The final phase of the three-phase project involved the creation of the Fetzer Center, a new build-out onto the north end of Camp Randall Stadium. The 30,000 SF Academic Center includes study rooms, tutoring space, and computer labs. The stone and glass facade continues the exterior of the almost century old football stadium, while defining main entry points for both the south end addition, as well as the McClain Center. Also included in Phase 3 is the addition of Camp Randall’s new video board and sound system. The new screen measures 4.200 SF, more than quadrupling the size of its predecessor. The sound system amplifies the game day experience by providing a crisper, higher quality sound.
Precise and accurate scheduling was paramount in the execution of the project. Working with contractors and the owner, the team was able to plan construction phases around both the athletic and academic calendars to allow for minimal interruptions during the facility’s continuous operations.
