The Green Bay Botanical Garden added a Conference Center and remodeled its existing Visitor Center to offer two new multi-purpose spaces to the community for wedding receptions, conferences, meetings and educational functions. The renovation updated the reception area of the existing building, offering greater visibility to the gift shop and adding a simple but refined fireplace as a warm focus to the gathering space.
The Conference Center addition, similar to other Botanical Garden buildings, is clad in glass and natural materials to harmonize with the surrounding landscape. Its inverted roof form (likened to butterfly wings) allows daylight to flood the interior. While maintaining continuity of materials with the original building, the addition has its own respectfully prominent entry to clarify way-finding for special events.
